Job summary

Northumberland County Council in Morpeth is recruiting for 4 full-time fixed-term roles as Lead Child Protection Practitioner or Independent Reviewing Officer. The service protects and supports children, working with families and partners to ensure decisions are robust and timely.

The roles offer flexible working while in-person meetings remain central. The LCPP/IRO positions require a qualified social worker with extensive experience in complex cases and multi-agency environments.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Significant experience working with children and families, including complex casework and multi-agency meetings.

Responsibilities

• As an LCPP, provide expert guidance to workers across the child protection pathway.
• As an IRO, chair reviews and ensure plans are appropriate and timely.
• Monitor and review children's plans and hold partners to account.
• Promote high-quality practice through independent oversight and constructive challenge.
