Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking a Lead Child Protection Practitioner to join the new MACPT in Crewe/Macclesfield. The role blends strategic practice leadership with hands-on safeguarding work to ensure high standards of child protection.

You will lead on complex decisions, provide expert advice to practitioners and partners, and mentor others as part of the Families First reform and service redesign.

As part of our ambitious Families First reforms and service redesign, we're creating a brand-new Lead Child Protection Practitioner role within our new Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT). This is a unique opportunity for an experienced child protection professional to be at the forefront of transformation, acting as a centre of excellence and knowledge hub for child protection practice across the workforce.

We're looking for a confident and influential practitioner with child protection expertise, strong decision-making skills, and a passion for developing others. You'll lead on complex child protection decision-making, provide expert advice and guidance to practitioners and partners, and help drive consistently high standards of safeguarding practice that keep children at the heart of every decision.
