Zusammenfassung

Chester Zoo is seeking a Lead Chef to join our culinary team across diverse venues, including Manado-inspired street food and our gastro pub, The Oakfield. Lead and mentor kitchen staff, uphold sustainable practices, and deliver exceptional dining while contributing to conservation goals.

You’ll manage day-to-day kitchen operations, devise menus, train staff, and collaborate with front-of-house to ensure outstanding guest experiences.

Qualifikationen

• Demonstrable experience of chef skills in high-volume settings such as hotels, venues, restaurants, pubs or contract catering.
• Understanding of current restaurant and event food trends.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Stock handling experience.
• Minimum Level 2 Food Safety.
• Good COSHH understanding and workplace application.
• Good communication and coaching skills.

Aufgaben

• Provide day-to-day kitchen support and deputise for the Sous Chef in their absence.
• Assist in devising and delivering on-trend menus for venues and events.
• Produce high-quality dishes to maximise profit and deliver world-class experiences.
• Train and mentor Chef de Parties and junior cooks.
• Collaborate with front-of-house to ensure seamless service.
• Adhere to health, hygiene and food safety procedures and legislation.
