Job summary

AWD online in Central London is seeking a hands-on Chef to shape menus, standards and service while supporting the Head Chef across a varied kitchen operation.

The Chef will combine creative food preparation with practical oversight of quality, timing, hygiene, stock and cost control. Working closely with F&B and C&B teams, the role contributes to menu development, supplier ordering and smooth service for clients, VIP guests, groups and delegates.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to plan, develop and source recipes and menus.
• Ability to prepare and present meals to a high standard across services.
• Strong hygiene, safety and kitchen cleanliness.
• Experience in supplier ordering and cost-control processes.
• Excellent teamwork and staff coaching skills.
• Organised approach to scheduling and staffing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Menu planning and development with Head Chef and F&B/C&B teams.
• Prepare, cook and present breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and room service for clients and VIPs.
• Maintain high quality, taste and presentation; ensure menu variety.
• Ensure meals are served timely; uphold kitchen standards and procedures.
• Support supplier ordering and cost-control when Head Chef is absent; assist with pricing.
• Assist with menu pricing, considering ingredients, labor and overhead costs.
• Help determine kitchen schedules and staffing requirements.
• Identify training needs and deliver training to junior kitchen staff.
• Assist with stock and waste control and maintain inventory levels.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is safe and well-maintained; upholding safety standards.
• Promote teamwork and professional standards across kitchen staff.
