Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Bath seeks a Lead CFD Engineer to use advanced simulation techniques for innovative projects. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and proficiency in CAD software, STAR-CCM+, and Abaqus. Key responsibilities include leading CFD simulations, managing junior engineers, and conducting experimental testing. This position offers a competitive salary of £55K to £65K with comprehensive benefits and a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

• Degree ideally MENG with First Class; 2.1 will be considered.
• Experience in experimental testing and prototyping.
• Proficient in advanced simulation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-impact projects involving advanced CFD simulations.
• Conduct rapid prototyping and lab testing.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate with clients.
• Mentor a team of Applied Sciences engineers.

Are you an exceptional engineer looking interested applying advanced simulation techniques to solve complex challenges in dynamic environments? Our client, a world-leading technology consultancy in South West, England, with offices also in the States, is seeking a Lead CFD Engineer with expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to work on cutting edge brand new projects.

As the successful candidate, you'll:

• Lead high-impact projects using STAR-CCM+ for CFD and Abaqus for FEA
• Oversee technical work of junior engineers and manage team development
• Apply advanced simulation techniques to solve complex challenges in medical and consumer product sectors

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct advanced CFD simulations and FEA studies
• Perform rapid prototyping and lab testing
• Prepare technical reports and communicate with clients
• Lead and mentor a team of Applied Sciences engineers

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field ideally MENG with First Class, though 2.1 will be considered.
• Proficiency in CAD software, Star-CCM+, and Abaqus
• Experience in experimental testing and prototyping
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
