Job summary

Danny Sullivan & Sons Ltd in Banbury is seeking a skilled Carpenter Chargehand to lead and support carpentry and formwork activities on a long-term construction project.

You will read and interpret drawings and specifications, construct formwork for reinforced concrete frames, and ensure accuracy and readiness for concrete pours. You will supervise on-site teams and coordinate with the General/Working Foreman to maintain quality, safety, and programme adherence.

Qualifications

• CSCS Blue or Gold Card is required.
• SSSTS or SMSTS certification is required.
• Strong joinery and formwork/shuttering carpentry experience.
• Ability to work accurately from technical drawings.
• Excellent understanding of reinforced concrete formwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support carpentry/formwork activities on a long-term construction project.
• Read and interpret drawings, general arrangement drawings, specifications and British Standards.
• Construct, assemble and erect formwork for reinforced concrete frames and structures.
• Ensure formwork is accurate and ready for concrete pouring gangs.
• Supervise work on site, supporting the General/Working Foreman.
• Maintain high standards of quality, productivity and health & safety.
• Coordinate with site teams to ensure work is completed efficiently and to programme.
