Job summary

Spire St Anthony's Hospital in Sutton is seeking a Lead Cardiac Physiologist to lead and develop their Cardiology service. The role covers invasive and non-invasive investigations, providing expert clinical leadership and delivering high-quality patient care across the Cardiac Catheter Lab and Outpatient Departments.

You will bring advanced clinical expertise, support colleagues, and drive service excellence while maintaining high standards of clinical practice within a proactive team

Qualifications

  • Degree in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant experience in cardiac physiology including angiography, electrophysiology and rhythm management.
  • Experience supporting cardiac catheter lab procedures and pacemaker therapies.
  • Strong clinical knowledge with ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist clinical expertise across cardiac physiology investigations and procedures.
  • Perform and independently report advanced procedures within electrophysiology and catheterisation.
  • Support patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
  • Ensure departmental policies and quality standards are maintained.
  • Provide leadership and support to Cardiac Physiologists.
  • Contribute to evaluation and ongoing assessment of equipment and consumables.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, nursing teams and other colleagues to deliver safe, patient-centred care.

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Cardiology Service

Spire St Anthony's Hospital is looking for an experienced Lead Cardiac Physiologist to join our established Cardiology team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated cardiac professional to provide expert clinical leadership while delivering outstanding patient care across our Cardiac Catheter Lab and Cardiology Outpatient Departments.

As Lead Cardiac Physiologist, you'll bring advanced clinical expertise across a broad range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations, supporting patients throughout their diagnostic and treatment journey. You'll also play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the physiology team, helping to maintain high clinical standards, drive service excellence and support the ongoing development of colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist clinical expertise across a broad range of cardiac physiology investigations and procedures.
  • Perform and independently report advanced procedures within electrophysiology, cardiac rhythm management, cardiac catheterisation and non-invasive cardiology.
  • Support patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in a variety of clinical settings.
  • Ensure departmental policies, protocols and quality standards are consistently maintained.
  • Provide leadership and support to Cardiac Physiologists working across the department.
  • Contribute to the evaluation, implementation and ongoing assessment of cardiac physiology equipment and consumables.
  • Work collaboratively with cardiologists, nursing teams and wider multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.
Who We're Looking For
  • Degree in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant experience within cardiac physiology, including angiography, electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm management.
  • Experience supporting cardiac catheter lab procedures and pacemaker therapies.
  • Strong clinical knowledge with the ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
