Job summary

NHS Greater Manchester is seeking a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for a substantive post with 10 programmed activities across the GMAIC and Crisis service. The post provides medical oversight and leadership within the CAMHS crisis pathway.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the acute care team and liaise with community CAMHS and inpatient services across Greater Manchester, contributing to risk assessment and clinical governance.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration is required.
• CCT in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or within 6 months of achievement.
• Section 12 Approval under Mental Health Act 1983 or eligible.
• Demonstrated CPD with the RCPsych.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight for the Crisis and GMAIC teams with clinical consultations and management of young people.
• Lead multidisciplinary assessment and treatment for emotional and mental health crises.
• Provide supervision to NMP within Crisis and GMAIC.
• Develop the role with acute care, liaising with community CAMHS and inpatient services.
• Attend escalation meetings and provide second opinions when required.
