Job description

We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant in CAMHS on a Substantive Term basis.

Our client's CAMHS services are currently looking for to join their team that currently provides services to a population of approximately 90,000 children and young adults. The service is delivered by two generic Tier 3 teams, along with Community Advisors and teams for Urgent Care, Eating Disorders, Intensive Home Treatment, DBT, plus an LD CAMHS team. The department currently has six Consultant Psychiatrists and two Specialty Doctors, who form a strong, supportive group. The department's location near paediatrics has fostered highly positive and collaborative services.

The successful appointee will be expected to:

  1. Participate in a 1 in 7 on-call rota.
  2. Play an active role in training and supervising medical staff in junior and non-training grades, as well as developing support staff.
  3. Support and lead education delivery for trainee medical staff and medical students.
  4. Participate in clinical governance and audit within the department.
  5. Attend MDT meetings and provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and their families or carers.

The appointee will join a trust located in a serene market town surrounded by attractive countryside, with contemporary leisure facilities and extensive retail outlets. It has excellent road and railway links to major cities such as Birmingham, Manchester, and Sheffield, and is close to international airports.

  • 10 P.A.s per week (additional P.A.s negotiable).
