Job summary

Syntech Recruitment Ltd in High Wycombe is seeking an experienced Lead CAD/CAM Engineer to lead programming for CNC milling, multi-axis machining and plastic trimming. You will develop and optimise CNC programs, toolpaths, feeds, speeds and tooling, while producing and reviewing 2D/3D CAD models for manufacture.

The role requires proven senior CAD/CAM or CNC programming experience, strong CAM software knowledge (SolidWorks; PowerMill) and a focus on reducing cycle times and costs.

Qualifications

• Senior CAD/CAM engineering or CNC programming experience.
• Experience with multi-axis machining and CNC programming.
• Proficiency in CAM software and SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Knowledge of tooling, cutting parameters and machining strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead CAD/CAM programming for CNC milling, multi-axis machining and plastic trimming.
• Develop and optimise CNC programs, toolpaths, feeds, speeds and tooling.
• Produce and review 2D and 3D CAD models for manufacture.
• Establish CAD/CAM programming standards and best practices.
• Develop machining strategies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Reduce machining cycle times, waste and manufacturing costs.
• Troubleshoot CNC programming, tooling and machining issues.
• Mentor CAD/CAM engineers and CNC programmers.
• Support NPI, prototyping and design-to-production activities.
• Work with estimating and quality teams on manufacturing requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement across CNC programming processes.
