THE TALENT BRANCH in Rugby, Warwickshire, is seeking a Lead Cabinet Maker / Senior Cabinetmaker to take ownership of bespoke luxury furniture projects, guiding from technical drawings to finished pieces on site.

You will lead small teams or work solo, select timbers and veneers, and fit luxury hardware, delivering high-end freestanding and fitted cabinetry for private clients.

Salary £38,000–£42,000 depending on experience; permanent, full-time role with on-site work.

• Proven experience as a cabinet maker or bench joiner with bespoke, high-end furniture experience.
• Ability to read detailed technical construction drawings
• Experience leading projects or mentoring junior cabinet makers

Responsibilities

• Build bespoke high-end freestanding and fitted furniture from detailed drawings.
• Lead cabinet projects or small teams from cutting list to final installation.
• Select timbers, veneers and manufactured boards for premium pieces.
• Perform veneering work including cutting, jointing and pressing with appropriate equipment.
• Fit hardware and luxury materials and ensure precise alignment and finish.
• Operate wood machinery safely to qualified standards and maintain a clean workshop.

Lead Cabinet Maker / Senior Cabinetmaker - Bespoke Luxury Furniture - Rugby Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 depending on experience Location: Rugby, Warwickshire (CV23) Job type: Permanent, full-time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cabinet Maker, Cabinetmaker or Bench Joiner to take a lead role with an established, privately owned furniture manufacturer based near Rugby, Warwickshire. The business designs and builds bespoke, high-end freestanding and fitted furniture and cabinetry for private clients, heritage properties, interior designers, architects and construction companies, working across contemporary and traditional luxury furniture styles.

This is a senior bench position for a skilled Cabinet Maker who can take true ownership of a project, from technical drawing through to a finished luxury piece, working independently or leading a small team of cabinet makers and joiners on genuinely bespoke, high-end furniture and cabinetry work.

What you'll be doing:

• Building bespoke, high-end freestanding and fitted furniture and cabinetry to an exceptional standard, working from detailed construction drawings in paper and digital formats
• Leading individual cabinet making projects or a small team of cabinet makers and joiners, from cutting list through to final assembly and fitting
• Selecting and working with a wide range of fine timbers, veneers and manufactured boards
• Veneering work including selection, cutting, jointing and pressing, using hydraulic and bag press equipment
• Fitting modern hardware including drawer runners, hinges and architectural ironmongery
• Working with luxury secondary materials such as inlays, decorative metal trims, glass and leather
• Cabinet jointing and assembly using up to date fixing methods and power tool jointers
• Operating a range of wood machinery to a safe, qualified standard

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker, Cabinetmaker, Bench Joiner or Furniture Maker working on bespoke, fine or high-end luxury furniture and cabinetry
• Candidates with a general joinery, kitchen fitting or flat pack background only will not be suitable for this role
• Confident reading and working from detailed technical construction drawings
• Hands on veneering experience is essentialRecognised wood machining qualifications, or clearly evidenced experience operating wood machinery safely
• Experience leading a project or mentoring less experienced cabinet makers is an advantage
• High personal standards of craftsmanship, planning, organisation and attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
