Job summary

Stirling Dynamics is recruiting a C++ Software Engineer to join the Software & Electronics Hardware team in Bristol. You will lead the delivery of safety-critical aerospace software and develop embedded software for aerospace and defence applications, working with a small, capable team.

The role involves hands-on development (C/C++, RTOS), technical leadership, and collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders, with occasional travel to client sites and security restrictions requiring

Qualifications

• Development of embedded software for high integrity/safety critical applications.
• Compliance with DO-178C and IEC EN 61508 standards.
• Experience in RTOS environments.
• Proven leadership of small teams or work packages.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and delivery of software work packages.
• Develop embedded and GUI software (C/C++, RTOS).
• Support certification activities (DO-178C, etc.).
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
