Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom seeks a senior C&I engineer to own the full lifecycle of control and instrumentation systems with emphasis on physical integration, panel design, and cabling. You will develop detailed specifications, support design reviews, and collaborate with process, mechanical and layout teams to ensure safe, compliant installations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience across the design and implementation lifecycle of C&I systems in highly regulated sectors.
• Strong knowledge of C&I system physical integration, including panel design, cabling and installation documentation.
• Experience across the full lifecycle of safety‑ and process‑critical C&I systems including specification, design, verification, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise across the full lifecycle of C&I systems with focus on physical integration and installation definition
• Develop detailed technical specifications and support design reviews
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, systems and layout engineering teams
• Produce standards and specifications for control panels and wiring schedules
• Develop C&I architecture, I/O lists, loop diagrams and design drawings
• Maintain configuration control and traceability across C&I packages
• Apply IEC cybersecurity principles in secure digital I&C design
• Lead problem‑solving activities and provide expert technical guidance
• Support installation, commissioning and operational readiness during project delivery
