Our consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled Lead Business & Technical Analyst to support a key asset management client. This individual will serve as the technical business lead across all trade order management system (OMS) initiatives, working directly with front-office personnel—including Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Operations—to drive project delivery, workflow design, and ongoing system enhancements.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience implementing and supporting both vendor-based (particularly Charles River IMS) and in-house-built OMS platforms. Strong domain expertise across investment products and trade lifecycle processes is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the SME and primary liaison between business users and technical teams for Charles River OMS projects.
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Operations to gather and document functional and technical requirements.
  • Design and optimize OMS workflows using Manager Workbench, Trading Blotter, System Administration, and other Charles River components and modules.
  • Plan, lead, and deliver OMS implementations, enhancements, and upgrades, including managing timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Architect data integrations and support data flow mappings across trade lifecycle systems.
  • Leverage APIs and web services to extend platform functionality, as needed.
  • Prepare and execute test cases, conduct unit testing, and coordinate with QA teams.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across client engagements.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and deliver high-quality consulting outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Must be authorized to work in the UK.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS), specifically with Manager Workbench and Trading Blotter modules.
  • Experience in workflow design and customization within Charles River OMS.
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle and front-to-back processes across multiple asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives, etc.).
  • Proven experience gathering requirements and translating them into functional/technical specs.
  • Hands-on development or scripting experience in C#, Python, and/or Java in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency with SQL (T-SQL or PL/SQL) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with integration protocols including FIX, Bloomberg Trading, and OMGEO/CTM.
  • Working knowledge of Portfolio Management Systems, Security Master, and P&L/Accounting Data is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently in a client-facing role.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with exotic derivatives and/or structured products.
  • Experience with Factset’s Portware (EMS).
  • Previous consulting experience or ability to thrive in a multi-client, fast-paced environment.
  • Project management certifications or formal training (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) a plus.
