A leading global company is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager for Computer Luggage. Job Summary
This is an exciting new global position within the Kensington team, based out of the EMEA region. This role will be responsible for all aspects of business development and category leadership for Computer Luggage.
As the business and product expert, this position will develop deep category, market and channel insights and translate these into a successful launch plan for a new range of luggage, including defining market opportunity, developing product requirements, building out a roadmap, identifying and building relationships with reputable vendors, developing brand/product positioning, launch plans, demand generation, forecasting, pricing, channel plans, sales training, and customer presentations. The position will understand regional market requirements and work in close partnership with the suppliers to build out a range of luggage that meet these needs.
This role will be closely aligned with the product organisation within the business and have an expert understanding of the category, guiding the regional sales teams to success by identifying product feature sets and market requirements to help them win business and grow sales.
The ideal candidate will be strong self motivated leader with a proven track record of this. They will possess a unique blend of sales experience, marketing prowess and product innovation.
Previous experience in a business development/sales/ vendor management of the luggage category will be extremely advantageous. The ideal candidate will come from a similar background, be experienced in identifying the right business opportunities, sourcing luggage, defining feature sets and roadmaps and developing products.
Responsibilities
-Deliver a market winning product roadmap that enables Kensington to take share in this highly competitive market.
-Set the strategic tone, lead and implement the direction for the computer luggage category.
-Deliver the category goals and vision in terms of roadmap, sales revenue, margin and share gain of a category that has large global TAM opportunities.
-Create, maintain and develop a trusted vendor base through excellent negotiating skills and leadership and establish long-term business relationships to build the business further to pre-defined revenue goals.
-Be the link between the sales team, customers and our vendor base to develop market winning propositions.
-Set up, execute and communicate a market winning strategy.
-Monitor, measure and report on business development initiatives making the necessary adjustments for continuous growth.
-Regularly analyse market trends, competitor strategies and industry standards to identify and capitalise on the latest trends and opportunities for computer luggage.
-Responsibility for any product related budget/spend on the computer luggage category and joint Product Management budget holder within the product team.
-Exceptional project management and communication skills.
-Attend trade shows and conferences globally to identify the latest trends in materials, sustainability initiatives and opportunities for growth within the area.
Qualifications
Essential
-Previous relevant experience in a previous or current business development and vendor management role.
-A natural networker with strong interpersonal skills to build new relationships.
-Creative and proactive with the capability to activate previous contacts and networks.
-Experience in project management and demonstrable ability to multi-task.
-A strategic thinker who demonstrates strong analytical and commercial skills.
-Capable of initiating and leading projects and developing product launch plans by leading cross-functional teams.
-Autonomous and capable of working on own initiative without day-to-day manager interaction.
-Demonstrable history of vendor management and a track record of delivering complex projects within the pre-defined criteria.
-Resilient time management and the ability to organise work and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
-Strong communicator with the ability to gain buy-in for product, marketing, and design objectives.
-Good numerical skills and capable of analysing, interpreting, and making strategic recommendations based on data from sales-in and sales-out, P&Ls, pricing and inventory reports.
-Strong presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to deliver presentations at all levels to internal stake holders and external channel and end user partners.
-PC literate with excellent MS Office skills and knowledge of ERP systems.
-Ability to travel globally as required for vendor negotiations, roadmap development, customer meetings and industry events.
