Job Description:

Lead Business Architect

  • Join our Business Architecture team in our Strategy department
  • Work with multiple internal functions and projects
  • Hybrid role with 80% homeworking and 20% in Stratford-upon-Avon

About the role

NFU Mutual is undergoing an exciting period of transformative change, with various innovative change programmes such as core systems updates and multichannel reviews. This is a great opportunity to join us.

You will be an experienced Lead Business Architect working across internal functions, engaging with senior stakeholders, and collaborating closely with the Chief Executive Officer to understand and deliver enterprise strategy.

Your role involves aligning the organisation to strategic goals through professional business architecture and design authority services, shaping and governing change initiatives, and defining Target Operating Models (TOMs) in collaboration with Divisions and HR.

You will support strategic change by facilitating early-stage thinking, understanding target state implications, and clarifying scope and sequencing.

About you

You should possess excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, a consultancy approach, strategic thinking, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. A Business Architecture or Enterprise Architecture qualification such as TOGAF is desirable.

Experience required includes:

  • Delivering Business Architecture in complex environments
  • Leading business transformation and change cycles
  • Developing capability, operating, organisational, or process models
  • Implementing frameworks for structured thinking and recommendations

NFU Mutual values diversity and inclusion, supporting candidates with adjustments and accommodations, and is a Disability Confident Employer, among other commitments.

Benefits and Rewards

We offer a supportive culture and attractive rewards, including:

  • Salary up to £80,000
  • Annual bonus up to 25%
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 20%)
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with holiday trading options
  • Family-friendly policies
  • Private medical insurance and other health benefits
  • Discounts, gym contributions, wellbeing plans, volunteering opportunities, referral bonuses, life assurance, and employee discounts
