Overview

Lead Business Analyst (12 Month Contract)

Location: Bath (hybrid - one day a week in the office)

Salary: £46,735 to £54,136 plus benefits package, including pension, professional development opportunities, and generous annual leave.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Business Analyst to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. This role plays a crucial part in shaping and delivering strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment between organisational objectives and tangible project outcomes.

The successful candidate will provide expert business analysis across a portfolio of strategic projects, driving effective governance, financial management, and benefits realisation. They will work closely with senior stakeholders, influencing key decision-makers, and enhancing the organisation's approach to business analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development of strategic business cases, collaborating with financial teams to ensure robust cost-benefit analysis.
  2. Develop and implement business analysis frameworks, ensuring best practice is consistently applied across the organisation.
  3. Work with senior leadership to identify and prioritise strategic programmes and projects.
  4. Establish and oversee processes for benefits realisation and risk management within the project portfolio.
  5. Provide expert guidance and coaching to business analysts, project managers, and senior stakeholders.
  6. Implement effective reporting mechanisms, including dashboard analytics, to track project progress and business impact.
  7. Facilitate strategic workshops, supporting business units in clarifying and formalising business needs.

The person

  1. Project or Programme Management Qualification or equivalent experience
  2. Knowledge of business analysis and project management methodologies/frameworks and their application
  3. Higher Education or Public Sector experience is essential
  4. Experience of resource capacity planning, workshop facilitation, change control and transition management, assurance/quality reviews, development of business cases and benefits management, supplier management, formal project governance approaches, stakeholder and communications management, and design and production of project dashboards.
  5. Significant project work experience, including working in teams on multiple tasks at one time
  6. Financial Management
  7. Experience of leading stakeholders to define their business needs
  8. Strategic analysis, thought leadership, and leadership and management skills
