Job description

Lead Business Analyst & Change Champion

We're looking for a dynamic Lead Business Analyst & Change Champion to help us connect the strategic, operational and technical dots across JT. In this role, you'll evolve our BA capability, champion change adoption, and foster cross-functional collaboration that drives measurable business improvement.

You'll lead both the business analysis function and our approach to embedding change. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, you'll guide decision-making with data, align initiatives to strategy, and ensure change delivers real impact. You'll help shape our BA practice, influence cross-functional thinking, and build strong foundations for improvement using tools and technologies including AI and predictive analytics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the principal business analyst and change champion, embedding change management practices and supporting successful change adoption across projects and initiatives.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the business strategy, processes, roadmaps (Technology & Product primarily) and the context within which they apply.
  • Apply data-driven analysis to inform decision-making, shape business cases, and validate benefits realisation.
  • Identify improvement opportunities by connecting insights across business domains, systems, and customer journeys
  • Stay abreast of emerging data trends and tools (e.g. AI, predictive analytics, data visualisation) and apply them to enhance business analysis outcomes.
  • Works flexibility within the asks of the business to ensure outputs are balanced alongside commerciality / speed to market.
  • The Lead BA will act as lead internal consultant / principal BA, working closely with the Strategy & Architecture function to shape and manage inbound flow.
  • Collaborate with Business Owners, Demand Management and Change Team ensure seamless transition from demand to analysis to delivery, and to align on change impacts and readiness.
  • Facilitates benefits realisation tracking for change initiatives, ensuring that intended business outcomes are defined, measured, and reported to appropriate governance forum.
  • Key interface to industry bodies/forums (TM Forum, BCS).
  • Management and Development of the JT BA Service framework, including the integration of change management tools and practices.
  • Advise and influence throughout the business change lifecycle, ensuring that change initiatives are aligned with the strategy and enterprise architecture.
  • Writing and presenting fluently and persuasively on all aspects of business analysis work and change management, while communicating effectively with staff at all levels and with external audiences in both public and organisational forums to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Manage BA and Change Management activities as part of a project or a discreet improvement initiative.
  • Active engagement in the JT Change Roadmap Cycle Planning & overall Budget process.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent (SFIA Level 5)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt qualification and demonstrable improvement advantageous
  • Formal experience leading a team of analysts or in a Lead / Principle Business Analyst role
  • Strong Change Management capabilities, able to demonstrate the need, knowledge, theories and techniques. Qualification advantageous (e.g., Prosci, APMG).
  • Demonstrable passion for the BA role and have led on several change projects, utilising Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of recognised industry standard modelling techniques including data modelling and BPMN.
  • An agile mindset, with a flexible and adaptable approach to delivering against business priorities.
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, in particular the ability to gain credibility at the most senior levels.
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies and practices, with experience of working alongside project managers and within project teams
