Job description

The Lead Business Analyst at AllPoints Fibre Networks will work primarily within a core business domain to develop a deep understanding of its strategic goals and operations. You will work independently across projects and as part of a project team to lead and shape new programmes and projects within your domain, eliciting and documenting business requirements and processes to support change delivery. You will also lead and support other Business Analysts working on projects within your domain.

What you will be doing:
  1. High Level Scoping:
    • Work with stakeholders to shape their roadmap and the projects needed to achieve strategic goals.
    • Collaborate with sponsors to define and document project scope during initiation.
  2. Requirements Gathering:
    • Establish best practices for Business Analysis.
    • Lead workshops and interviews with stakeholders to understand objectives and requirements.
    • Translate requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.
    • Prioritize requirements with the business (e.g., MoSCoW, backlog ranking).
    • Support and clarify requirements as needed.
  3. Process Modelling:
    • Lead workshops to understand current and future processes.
    • Document processes clearly.
    • Collaborate with other analysts to ensure process interactions are well-defined.
    • Support process clarification as required.
  4. Supporting Go Live (as required):
    • Create knowledge articles, training materials, and work instructions.
    • Support testing activities.
  5. Line Management:
    • Guide, support, and occasionally line-manage Business Analysts within your domain to ensure effective delivery.
About you:

You should have experience working on at least four large projects as the Lead Business Analyst, in both Waterfall and Agile environments. A detailed understanding of requirements gathering and process modelling is essential, along with stakeholder management skills.

Preferred but not essential qualifications include:

  • ISEB Business Analysis Modules and/or Diploma
  • Agile certification (e.g., Product Owner)
  • Degree in Business Systems or IT
  • Experience working as a Business Analyst in a Telco environment
  • Experience in process modelling
  • Line management experience with Business Analysts
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders on product roadmaps
