Team: The Times Media Product Management team is organised around three core pillars of the Times product: Subscription Growth, Reader Experience, and Commercial Advertising. Each pillar comprises cross-functional squads of Product, Design, and Business Analysis, supported by dedicated Delivery and Engineering teams.

Role: The Lead BA will lead and mentor a team of cross-disciplinary BAs across all three pillars. Joining at an exciting time in the evolution of the Product team and The Times, you will be responsible for executing the Product strategy and guiding the BA team. This role is key in defining and delivering high-impact digital initiatives, optimizing processes, and improving business outcomes.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  1. Lead business analysis efforts for high-impact digital product initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  2. Act as a bridge between business needs and technical capabilities, clarifying and validating requirements.
  3. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and UX teams to define product requirements and user stories.
  4. Define and document business processes, workflows, and system integrations.
  5. Utilize data-driven insights to support decision-making and measure digital product performance.
  6. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  7. Develop business cases and present findings to senior stakeholders.
  8. Continuously evaluate and refine digital product performance through data analysis and user feedback.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a digital product environment, with management experience of a BA team.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Expertise in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SQL, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of influencing at all levels.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced digital settings.
  • Experience in digital transformation projects or platform migrations.
