Ringway Jacobs in Chelmsford (Essex) is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead optioneering, design and assessment of highway structures including bridges and retaining walls. You will provide technical leadership within a small design team and mentor junior staff while maintaining high standards in your work.

The role requires a Civil or Structural Engineering degree, professional qualification (or working towards), strong communication and project management skills, and knowledge of Eurocodes,

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional qualification (or working towards) is preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration and time management skills.
• Project management skills related to bridge design or other disciplines.
• Strong technical design and practical problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of contract specifications and MCHW is desirable.
• Budgetary governance and health & safety knowledge are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor teams on structural analysis, optioneering, feasibility studies, tenders, detailed designs and contract documents.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to provide an integrated client service.
• Seek innovative solutions to deliver best value in projects.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Support health and safety, quality and CDM processes.
