1. Requires multi-disciplinary knowledge.
2. Recommends work methods, procedures, and technical innovations by devising practical and economical solutions within own discipline.
3. Provides recommendations on research requests, objectives, priorities, and timing.
4. Assesses the need for change and recommends the development of standards.
5. Evaluates work against standards, objectives, and specifications.
6. Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to solve complex technical problems.
7. Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, and compares findings with relevant studies and regulations to ensure compliance.
8. Develops highly innovative solutions. Acts as an advisor to management and clients, often self-initiating assignments. Oversees the work of less experienced scientists.
