Job summary

Dudley Metropolitan Council is seeking an experienced AMHP/Registered professional to lead complex deprivation of liberty assessments and safeguarding processes. You will work across multi-agency partnerships, chair meetings, and ensure human rights and best interests are central to decisions.

The role requires an AMHP or equivalent registration, plus a Post Qualifying Award (BIA) and up-to-date regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Be an AMHP; registered social worker; or qualified and registered first level nurse, Occupational Therapist, or chartered Psychologist.
• Post Qualifying Award – Best Interest Assessor (BIA) required.
• Must have up-to-date registration & compliance with regulatory body requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor a workload of complex cases involving risk and prioritise tasks.
• Make complex decisions about Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and lead complex assessments.
• Chair and facilitate meetings and contribute to safeguarding governance.
