Job summary

The Lion Inn in Boreham, Essex is seeking an experienced Head Banqueting Chef to lead its busy banqueting kitchen and deliver outstanding food across weddings, functions and conferences. You will also support the premium gastropub operation when event volumes are quieter, producing both high-volume banqueting menus and restaurant dishes from fresh ingredients.

We require a strong leader with a passion for food, excellent safety standards, and a proven ability to manage stock, costs and staff

Qualifications

Experience leading a banqueting kitchen.
Experience catering for weddings, functions and large events.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent standards in food quality and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day operation of the banqueting kitchen.
Prepare, cook and present high-quality food for weddings, private events, conferences and functions.
Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and guest satisfaction.
Manage food preparation, service and event execution from start to finish.
Work closely with the Events Team to ensure seamless delivery of all functions.
Maintain exceptional standards of food safety, hygiene and allergen compliance.
Train, mentor and develop junior kitchen team members.
Be flexible and willing to assist across all kitchen operations to meet business demands.
