Job Title: Lead AWS Engineer/Architect

Location: Remote (Must be UK Based)

Security Clearance: Current UK SC Clearance required

Rate: Up to £100 an hour Inside IR35

The Opportunity: This is a great chance to work on a high-profile Defence / MOD / Government programme of work. It's a 6-month project paying up to £800 per day to the Umbrella company on an Inside IR35 basis.

The Role: The work is well underway but now they need new resources to ensure it gets delivered, implemented, and supported effectively. There are features and capabilities yet to be architected and delivered, requiring a Lead Engineer experienced in design, implementation, migration, and transition on complex AWS programmes.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure using a tailored SAFe Agile DevSecOps Scrum process.
2. Use best practices and patterns for design and development with AWS Services and Infrastructure as Code.
3. Perform automated testing, unit testing, and automated deployments via CI/CD pipelines.
4. Participate in daily scrums, requirements analysis, risk management, and collaboration across Agile teams.

Flexible cross-training in systems engineering, software development, training, security, and testing is also desired.

The Person:

• Must be a UK Citizen
• Must hold UK SC Clearance
• Experienced AWS Engineer at a Senior level
• Recent experience with Infrastructure as Code and understanding of SDLCP
• Ability to perform complex system and specialty engineering tasks
• Experience in developing documentation
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with customers, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional teams
• Ability to analyze data for system installation and modifications
• Support for the Agile software development lifecycle
• Proficient with tools like GitHub, SonarQube, Robot, TestRail, Ansible, Terraform, Unix bash scripting
• Experience with AWS Cloud environment
