Job summary

Version 1 is seeking a highly skilled Automation and Performance Test Engineer to lead strategic testing initiatives across complex systems. You will design, build, and maintain robust automation and performance testing frameworks using open-source tools, while mentoring other engineers.

Based in the UK, you will own test strategy, collaborate with engineering teams, and drive quality improvements across data pipelines, ETL processes, and CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading testing teams and strategic testing initiatives.
• Hands-on automation framework expertise (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress).
• Experience using Virtuoso for test automation or similar tool.
• Strong CI/CD, test environment management, and collaboration skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
• Experience in Agile and DevOps environments; AI tooling exposure a plus.
• Expertise in database and ETL testing; familiar with test management/defect tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale, complex testing activities, managing risks and quality.
• Build, maintain, and evolve automation frameworks using open-source tech.
• Drive process improvements by investigating existing workflows.
• Design and execute functional, performance, and automated tests.
• Communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Oversee test planning, execution, and reporting per the Test strategy.
• Manage defect lifecycle and ensure timely resolution.
• Test database systems and ETL processes for data accuracy.
