Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is recruiting for a Lead Automation Engineer at a busy automated manufacturing site in Buckinghamshire, with a location in Iver noted in the posting. The role focuses on taking ownership of site automation, driving reliability, and leading from the front on electrical breakdowns, fault-finding, PPMs and inspections.

The ideal candidate has strong electrical fault-finding skills, manufacturing experience, and the ability to lead engineers on shift.

Qualifications

Strong electrical fault-finding and automation capability (heavily electrical)
Experience in a manufacturing environment (automated/fast-paced ideal)
Ability to own breakdowns and improve reliability
Ability to lead engineers on shift (hands-on leadership)
Reading electrical drawings and diagnosing control system issues

Responsibilities

Lead electrical breakdown response and complex fault-finding
Carry out PPMs, inspections, and planned maintenance
Fault finding across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Read electrical drawings and diagnose control system issues
Support continuous improvement and reliability upgrades
Support facilities maintenance as required
Typical fault areas include motors, sensors, contactors/relays, inverters, PLC faults (Siemens S5 / FF) and hydraulics/pneumatics
