Supply Chain Auditor

Arriva Road Transport Services (ARTS)

Hybrid, Derby

Maternity Cover (September 2025 to June 2026)

Arriva Road Transport Services (ARTS), part of Arriva UK Trains, oversees and manages all aspects of coaches, buses, taxis, and coordinators for rail replacement, special events, school support, and train crew support across various customer portfolios within ARTS, both pre-planned and emergency.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Auditor based in Derby. Reporting to the Compliance and Safety Manager, you will lead audit requirements for external operators and contribute to our Health and Safety policies.

The role ensures supplier compliance to meet SLA and client needs, with documentation checked, confirmed, and approved accordingly.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits, with a permanent contract at £32,000 per annum.

Safety Responsibilities:

1. Promote collaboration with stakeholders to implement and sustain the Safety Management System and develop audit programs with operators, including Coach and Taxi Operators.
2. Engage with operators in the field, conduct audits (face-to-face, remote, or on-site), provide feedback, and support corrective actions to meet SLA requirements.
3. Deliver safe, reliable, and efficient services through desk-based audits, including compliance documentation, vehicle checks (e.g., PSVAR compliance), and other safety checks.

Compliance Responsibilities:

1. Organize and deliver effective audits of external suppliers and coordinators in line with contractual obligations.
2. Plan risk-based audits to ensure adherence to Health and Safety and compliance standards.
3. Coordinate audit reports, debriefs, follow-ups, and actions.
4. Promote departmental initiatives, manage staff performance, training, and development to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Experience in auditing or related fields.
• Transport industry experience.
• Knowledge of workplace Health and Safety standards.
• Analytical skills with the ability to develop solutions to audit issues.
• Stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver audits effectively.

Desirable qualifications include ISO Internal or Lead Auditor certification, proficiency with audit software, and NEBOSH qualification.
