Job description

BASEC, part of Kiwa UK, is seeking a Lead Auditor to join our expert team. In this role, you will conduct audits across various management systems, BASEC PCR, and Construction Products Regulation (Cables). You will collaborate with cable manufacturers, distributors, stockists, and traders to ensure compliance and quality in the cable industry. This field-based position involves frequent national and international travel, offering variety, challenges, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct management systems and product audits nationally and internationally, ensuring compliance with BASEC approval schemes and CPR (Cables).
  • Select cable samples at client sites and witness testing, including MV, HV, and fire testing.
  • Address client inquiries and provide technical feedback to the Certification Office.
  • Review audit reports, address non-conformities, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support the Certification Team with audit preparation, certificate decision-making (when authorized), and complaint resolution.
  • Use CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics) to complete and manage audit documents.
  • Assist the Group Technical and Certification Manager and other team members as required.
Requirements:
  • Successfully completed a CQI/IRCA recognized lead auditor course for ISO 9001.
  • Proven ability to meet targets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (up to 80%).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Completed a CQI/IRCA recognized lead auditor course for ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 (desirable).
  • Experience in cable manufacturing and standards.
  • Experience with CRMs like Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics (desirable).
  • Knowledge of CPR and UKCA legislation and technical requirements.
