Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a technically skilled Lead Audio Design Engineer to lead the development of immersive audio systems for world-class location-based entertainment (LBE) experiences. From theme parks and interactive museums to immersive attractions and cultural installations, you will be responsible for designing and delivering audio environments that captivate and inspire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design of audio systems for LBE projects, including immersive attractions, dark rides, simulators, and interactive exhibits.
  • Collaborate with creative directors, show producers, and technical teams to translate storytelling goals into impactful audio experiences.
  • Specify and integrate professional audio components including loudspeakers, amplifiers, DSPs, microphones, and networked audio systems
  • Develop detailed design documentation including signal flow diagrams, rack layouts, cable schedules, and tuning plans.
  • Oversee on-site installation, system tuning, and commissioning to ensure optimal performance and guest experience.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (video, lighting, show control) to ensure seamless AV integration.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional collaboration across global teams.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in immersive audio, spatial sound, and interactive media.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Audio Engineering, Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience designing and delivering audio systems for themed entertainment or LBE environments.
  • Proficiency with tools such as EASE, Q-SYS Designer, DANTE Controller, and AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Deep understanding of acoustics, signal processing, and AV networking in complex environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Willingness to travel globally for project delivery and client engagement.

Desirable

  • Experience with immersive audio formats
  • Familiarity with show control systems and integration with lighting/video timelines.
  • Experience working in international or multi-disciplinary project teams.
