The Lead Associate - Asset Transfers will assist the Deputy Head of WBS Operations and the wider Asset Servicing team in the administration and processing of client requests to transfer assets or money to or from the firm. This role requires adherence to regulatory and product-specific requirements, managing administrative duties to ensure compliance with regulations including KYC, AML, and CASS rules.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to understand their transfer needs, providing solutions and ensuring expectations are met or exceeded. Keep clients informed with regular updates and promptly address queries or concerns.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Transfers team, ensuring smooth, timely, accurate, and compliant asset transfers.
- Ensure stock withdrawals and deposits from certificates are correctly managed in line with CASS rules.
- Monitor and ensure all asset transfers comply with internal and external policies, SLAs, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Produce necessary forms related to asset or cash transfers and track all open transfer instructions.
- Utilize management information to analyze and report on transfer activities, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management with insights and recommendations for process enhancements.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce procedures to standardize processes and controls, including contingency plans for discrepancies or issues. Conduct post-issue analysis to identify root causes.
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and client-centricity. Encourage knowledge sharing among team members.
- Evaluate and improve existing transfer processes, controls, and systems for efficiency, accuracy, and client satisfaction. Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes.
- Work with Compliance, Risk, and Audit functions to ensure activities are within regulatory frameworks. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate transfer risks, taking corrective actions when needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in Asset Transfers (domestic and foreign), with understanding of settlement cycles and corporate events impact.
- Exposure to multi-asset class transfers.
- Experience with CREST GUI system.
- Experience with Altus.
- Knowledge of cross-border and international transfers.
- Understanding of voluntary and mandatory corporate action events (desired).
- Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including CASS rules for managing client assets.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Ability to focus and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and written skills.
- Ability to maintain a strong risk management and control framework, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring.
