Job summary

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is expanding the Pharmacy Aseptic Service with a new onsite unit for injectable medicines, including chemotherapy. We are recruiting a full-time 12-month fixed-term Band 6 Specialist Pharmacy Technician with Accredited Checking Technician qualification to support a skilled team delivering safe, high-quality injectables.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services and a BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science (or equivalent).
• Pre and In-Process Checking Accreditation or willingness to work towards.
• Evidence of post-qualification training in Aseptic Services (e.g. Leeds University).
• Product Approval Accreditation or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PASU management in safe, effective, and efficient provision of high-risk injectables.
• Coordinate daily workload to ensure timely supply to service users.
• Manage staff rotas and planning to maintain staffing levels.
• Maintain computer systems and documentation, ensuring validation and change control procedures.
• Complete daily capacity planning and escalate capacity issues as needed.
• Act as Accredited Checking Technician and perform quality inspection of outsourced high-risk injectables.
