Job summary

The Bishop of Winchester Academy in Bournemouth is seeking a highly motivated Teacher of Art with Subject Lead for Art who combines excellent classroom practice with vision and leadership to drive Art across the school. The successful candidate will be passionate about inspiring creativity, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and promoting a culture of excellence within the department.

Qualifications

• Experience leading curriculum development in Art.
• Ability to drive improvements in attainment in Art.
• Enhanced DBS check is required.

Responsibilities

• Progress the Art department to greater successes.
• Lead and develop the Art curriculum and teaching standards.
• Monitor student progress and improve attainment in Art.
• Support and mentor colleagues within the department.
• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Art lessons.
• Encourage high expectations of students' behaviour.
• Involve GCSE and BTEC Tech Award at KS4 (A‑Levels/Level 3 desirable).
• Promote enrichment opportunities, exhibitions and wider participation.
• Manage departmental resources to support learning.
• Be a positive role model and influence students' lives.
