Arable Farm Worker
Lead Arable Operator – Buckinghamshire – £37,000 - £42,500 DOE + Company Vehicle + Overtime
The Job:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Arable Farm Worker and Grain Store Operative to join a well-established, family-run business based in Buckinghamshire. This permanent, full-time role offers a varied and rewarding workload, split between arable farm duties, estate maintenance, and the operation of a busy commercial grain store. Responsibilities will include a range of tasks such as cultivation, drilling, spraying, fertilising, and machinery maintenance. As the sole operator in this largely autonomous role, the ideal candidate must be confident working independently and using their own initiative.
Key Duties:
- Operating a wide range of agricultural machinery
- Performing general workshop maintenance and servicing of equipment
- Supporting grain store operations, including weighing and sampling lorries, operating the drier, cleaner, and colour sorter, as well as loading and dispatching grain
- Maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the smooth operation of the grain store and associated equipment
The Company:
A long-established, family-run farm based in Buckinghamshire. The farm operates 500 acres on an arable rotation alongside a sizeable commercial grain store serving local farmers and merchants.
The Candidate:
- Clean UK driving licence
- PA1 & PA2 spraying certificates
- Telehandler certificate
- Experience operating arable machinery
- Confident using modern GPS and electronic systems
- Grain store experience (beneficial but not essential)
- Strong reliability, time management, and work ethic
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
- Committed to delivering high-quality work, especially during peak times
The Package:
- £37,000 - £42,500 per annum, depending on experience
- Weekly PAYE pay
- Overtime paid after 48 hours
- 28 days holiday
- Company vehicle provided
- All tools and PPE provided
