Job summary

Panasonic Manufacturing UK Ltd. (PMUK) based in Cardiff is seeking a Lead Applications Developer to own and drive delivery of Oracle E-Business Suite and APEX-based solutions.

You will design modern apps, troubleshoot complex issues, and develop VB.NET and Python tooling within a small, collaborative team. The role demands hands-on leadership, strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in a senior/lead developer role with ownership.
• Strong Oracle DB 19c, Oracle EBS 12.1.3+ and Oracle APEX 19.1+ expertise.
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL with database design knowledge.
• Front-end skills: JavaScript, JSON, CSS, HTML.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement of Oracle E-Business Suite environment.
• Design and build modern Oracle APEX applications integrated with Oracle EBS.
• Troubleshoot complex technical and functional issues across Oracle EBS and APEX.
• Develop and support VB.NET and Python applications.
• Lead requirements gathering and translate business needs into solutions.
• Own the full project lifecycle from concept through go-live and post-implementation support.
• Improve integration across systems by diagnosing and resolving issues across Oracle EBS modules and interfaces.
• Tackle complex functional investigations to identify root causes and fixes.
• Support and enhance business operations by improving processes through technology.
• Research, prototype, and test new functionality and process improvements.
• Deliver clear documentation and provide training to end users.
• Work within a quality-driven environment following company standards.

Salary: £53,000 - 93,000 per year

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of proven experience in a senior or lead developer role, with the ability to take ownership and drive delivery.
• Strong experience with Oracle Database 19c, Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3 or above, and Oracle APEX 19.1 or above.
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills, with a solid understanding of database design and optimisation.
• Front-end development experience using JavaScript, JSON, CSS, and HTML.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Genuine enthusiasm for programming, problem-solving, and tackling complex challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver robust, high-quality applications, including complex solutions.
• A proactive, positive mindset with a strong focus on delivering solutions on time and to a high standard.
• Experience across the full development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, and implementation.
• Advanced English may be required for a visa application, assessed case by case.
• Desirable: experience with VB.NET and Python for maintaining and enhancing legacy and supporting applications.
• Desirable: experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Power BI, and/or Power Automate.
