Job Description:

Lead Applications Chemist (Polyurethane) required, based in the West Midlands. The role requires recent, proven industrial experience in polyurethane (PU) formulation and development, especially knowledge of additives for creating PU foams. A recent PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry is preferred but not essential; research in polyurethane development is essential.

Role Details:
  • Lead the research and development of stabilizer solutions for polyurethanes.
  • Focus on R&D of slabstock foams.
  • Develop and optimize product packages to meet customer needs.
  • Review experimental data from application testing.
  • Present application data internally and to clients.
  • Stay updated on polyurethane and TPU markets.
Requirements:
  • PhD in synthetic organic or polymer chemistry (or similar).
  • Minimum BSc/MSc in Chemistry.
  • Proven industrial experience with polyurethane, flexible slabstock, and/or TPU.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently.
