Job description

At Wise, our mission is to achieve "Money Without Borders" — making financial transactions fast, convenient, transparent, and eventually free. Millions of people around the world use Wise to send, spend, hold, and receive money across multiple currencies.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Lead Analyst to join the Wise Platform Analytics team and set the standard when it comes to building robust, reliable, scalable and highly efficient data assets. It’s a role that will allow you to have a big impact from day one! You will work closely with analysts and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, transform data into assets and deliver actionable insights to our prospects, partners and internal teams.

ABOUT WISE PLATFORM

Wise Platform helps banks and software companies leverage Wiseʼs infrastructure to offer their customers world-class payments products through their own channels. Our partners make up some of the worldʼs biggest banks and platforms, such as Monzo, Morgan Stanley, Nubank and Google. It's one of the newest and growing areas of Wise! We’re a highly cross-functional team. You will work closely with colleagues from commercial, delivery, product, engineering, operations, finance and more.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  1. You will play a leading role in defining our data structures and strategy. Working with the team to build and maintain mission critical data assets in Wise Platform.
  2. You will deliver high impact projects such as building out and maintaining our first opportunity level revenue reporting model. This will unlock our ability to forecast accurately, steer hiring decisions and enable us to performance manage partners and teams effectively.
  3. You will be crafting dashboards and visualisations that bring data to life, tell a story and have diagnostic power, using BI tools such as Looker/Superset.
  4. You will contribute to building out a full suite of self-service dashboards, reports and tools. Alongside identifying opportunities to automate processes, supporting the business to scale.
  5. You will set the standard when it comes to monitoring, alerting, testing and observability of our data pipelines. Ensuring there’s high trust in our data assets, enabling us to leverage them for operational and external use cases.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  1. Advanced SQL proficiency. You are an expert model builder with a proven track record of building robust, reliable, scalable and highly efficient, source of truth data assets using SQL, DBT (including incremental materialization), and Python. (All analysts at Wise are expected to be full-stack and should be comfortable owning analytics from ingestion to insights.)
  2. You are a proactive problem solver. Willing to demonstrate extreme ownership over your domain and flex your technical prowess to find solutions to problems, no matter how big or small.
  3. You are solution-oriented and able to own projects from start to finish. You are comfortable motivating stakeholders across Wise and negotiating timelines to unblock yourself and make things happen!
  4. You are an excellent communicator, able to form your own opinions and effectively articulate them to win colleagues round to your way of thinking. You should also be comfortable writing and maintaining clear and concise documentation.
  5. You are versed in project management and prioritisation. You’re comfortable working with colleagues to turn complex and abstract requirements into concrete project plans, ruthlessly prioritising workstreams and setting expectations with stakeholders.
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
  1. Experience working with payments or transaction data.
  2. Experience working with sales data in Salesforce or similar, and/or contacts data in tools like Zendesk or Twilio.
PROCESS
  1. Screening call with recruiter - 30 mins
  2. SQL live coding test - 45 minute
  3. Technical case study - 1 hour
  4. Stakeholder round - 1 hour
  5. Final round - 1 hour

Preparation material and further context will be provided at each stage.
