The Opportunity

National Grid is hiring a Lead Analyst, Design Processing for our Gas Asset Engineering department in Waltham, MA. This is a hybrid role.

The Role

Ensure the timely and efficient management of capital and operational expense work through the engineering and design workflow process, from project inception to closeout, including in part, work package preparation, design pre-work, work package issuance, work modification and work process closeout.

What You'll Do

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of 7-10 individuals, prioritize work, promote safe working practices and allocate resources to ensure results are delivered in line with expectations and customer/business objectives
• Manage capital work processing for between $300M to $800M in assigned territory
• Coordinate work requests for engineering and design for all capital improvement projects in assigned region to support gas capital plan spending
• Responsible for timely and efficient coordination of capital work requests for Gas System Engineering from inception to closeout
• Prioritize capital work request processing to ensure goals associated with compliance, safety and reliability are met
• Track and report on progress of capital work from inception to closeout with key focus on gas system engineering and design responsibilities

About You

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or technical discipline preferred
• 7+ years related professional experience in engineering, work coordination, and/or program management role required
• 3+ years of experience managing the work of a technical functional area and demonstrated track record of taking specific actions to enable the team to function efficiently and effectively preferred
• Advanced understanding of software applications which support work and design processes including work management, GIS platforms, records, asset databases, customer systems, document management systems, investment/financial systems preferred
• Strong ability to communicate vision and engage customers and stakeholders required
• Valid driver's license required

Salary

$133,000 - $156,000 a year
