Job summary

Safran Engineering Services UK Limited in Pitstone is seeking a highly capable Systems Engineer to lead the development of advanced aircraft electrical power generation, distribution and propulsion systems from concept through to certification and in-service support.

The role offers either Inside IR35 contracting or a fixed-term 12-month employment with potential to become permanent, working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compliant aerospace systems and to engage closely with

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Aerospace, Systems or related) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle including design, integration, verification and validation, ideally in electrical power generation, distribution or propulsion.
• Experience with aircraft systems or other complex safety-critical products and their development/integration challenges.
• Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and processes across the product lifecycle.
• Ability to work with customers/stakeholders to translate needs into clear technical requirements and build relationships.
• Experience leading technical reviews, workshops and customer meetings within aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering work packages to deliver to schedule, budget, quality and applicable standards.
• Define and manage system requirements with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop system architectures, perform performance analyses, trade studies and support system integration.
• Oversee subsystem development and ensure effective requirements flow-down and implementation.
• Lead verification, validation and compliance activities throughout the system lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership, acting as the primary customer interface for system development and performance decisions.
