Job summary

Starling Bank is seeking a Lead Analyst - Model Validation to join the Model Risk Oversight Team. You will lead validation of AI/ML models and review traditional models, ensuring safe deployment and robust risk controls across the bank.

You will collaborate with developers, owners, and committees to convey validation findings clearly. The role requires hands-on AI/ML validation experience, strong programming and analytics skills, and the ability to communicate complex results to senior

Qualifications

• Graduate level education preferred, ideally in a numerical field.
• Proven hands-on AI/ML model validation or AI model build experience.
• Strong proficiency with analytical tools and data manipulation (Python/R/SQL/SAS).

Responsibilities

• Lead validation and technical review of AI/ML models across Starling's portfolio.
• Validate traditional models such as IFRS 9, forecasting, and operational risk.
• Produce validation reports and present findings to model owners and committees.
• Draft committee papers and present high-level validation findings to senior leadership.
• Foster strong model risk practices throughout the model lifecycle with stakeholders.
