Job summary

ClearRoute is seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer to redefine production paths through AI-enabled platform engineering. You will own the design and delivery of modern developer platforms on AWS, driving policy-as-code adoption across the SDLC and embedding AI tooling to accelerate and govern the delivery lifecycle.

We require hands-on experience with IaC, CI/CD, and security, plus a strong bias for building self-service tooling in a regulated enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Strong AWS platform engineering experience with IaC
• Hands-on policy-as-code experience
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern production patterns
• Experience embedding governance into the SDLC
• Scripting skills in Python and/or Bash
• Experience with AI-assisted tooling in engineering workflows
• Strong security mindset for cloud-native systems
• Familiarity with SCPs and organization-level guardrails
• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost governance
• Exposure to AI-driven pipeline automation

Responsibilities

• Design and build AWS-native developer platforms that modernise the path to production
• Extend policy-as-code principles into the SDLC (PR gates, compliance checks, pipeline guardrails)
• Integrate AI tooling to automate code review, security scanning, and deployment decisions
• Define and enforce golden paths for service onboarding, CI/CD, and infrastructure provisioning
• Build self‑service developer tooling that reduces cognitive load and accelerates delivery
• Ensure secure, scalable AWS environments using IAM, VPC, SCPs, and infrastructure-as-code
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed platform standards across the delivery lifecycle

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build AWS-native developer platforms that modernise the path to production
• Extend policy-as-code principles into the SDLC (PR gates, compliance checks, pipeline guardrails)
• Integrate AI tooling to automate code review, security scanning, and deployment decisions
• Define and enforce golden paths for service onboarding, CI/CD, and infrastructure provisioning
• Build self‑service developer tooling that reduces cognitive load and accelerates delivery
• Ensure secure, scalable AWS environments using IAM, VPC, SCPs, and infrastructure-as-code
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed platform standards across the delivery lifecycle

Required Experience:

• Strong AWS platform engineering experience (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform)
• Hands‑on experience implementing policy‑as‑code (OPA, Sentinel, AWS Config, or equivalent)
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern path‑to‑production patterns
• Experience embedding governance and compliance controls into the SDLC
• Solid scripting / automation skills (Python and/or Bash)
• Proven ability to build and operate self‑service internal developer platforms
• Experience with AI‑assisted tooling or LLM integration in engineering workflows
• Strong security mindset with experience securing cloud‑native, production‑grade systems
• Familiarity with AWS service control policies (SCPs) and organization‑level guardrails
• Experience with developer portals or IDP tooling (e.g. Backstage)
• Knowledge of FinOps principles and cloud cost governance
• Exposure to AI code assistants or AI‑driven pipeline automation
• Experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS) and serverless patterns
• Familiarity with software supply chain security (SBOM, SLSA, Sigstore)
• Background in platform or DevOps engineering within regulated or enterprise environment
