Job summary

Redgate in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on technical leader to help build the next generation of AI capabilities for database administration. You’ll sit with a small cross‑functional team, alongside a Tech Lead, Product Designer, Product Manager, and 4–5 software engineers, with support from leadership.

You’ll own complex engineering challenges, shape the approach to agentic AI interfaces, ensure high engineering quality, and collaborate on product strategy while maintaining a direct

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and operating scalable, secure software systems with a bias for simplicity and maintainability.
• Proven track record of leading complex engineering work, including cross‑team collaboration.
• Proficiency in .NET/C#, Python, or TypeScript, with expertise in at least one.
• Strong communicator, able to distil complex technical decisions for diverse audiences.
• Experience coaching and mentoring engineers to grow the team.

Responsibilities

• Develop agentic AI interfaces across teams and integrate Redgate tooling into an AI‑driven workflow.
• Shape the team’s approach to complex engineering challenges and maintain engineering quality.
• Lead cross‑team initiatives and align technical strategy with product goals.
• Participate in leadership discussions with the Tech Lead and Product Manager.
• Maintain a direct line to customer impact by prioritising work that solves real problems.
