Job summary

SGS is seeking an Agricultural Trials Officer to lead field studies and oversee trials from setup to harvest across the UK. You will act as Principal Investigator on single and multi-site studies, liaising with clients and delivering updates.

The role requires GLP/GEP experience, PI credentials, and strong project management skills. You will train technicians, mark out plots, collect samples, and analyze data, contributing to sustainability audits and continuous improvement initiatives within a

Qualifications

• Experience in GLP and/or GEP field trials.
• Experience acting as a Principal Investigator.
• Strong client-facing and project management skills.
• PA1 & PA6 qualifications and a full UK driving licence.
• A degree in Agriculture, Crop Science, Plant Science, Life Sciences, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Managing and delivering agricultural field trials across the UK.
• Acting as Principal Investigator on both single and multi-site studies.
• Liaising directly with clients and providing study updates.
• Marking out, assessing, sampling, and harvesting trial plots.
• Analysing and reporting trial data using specialist software.
• Leading and training technicians and seasonal staff.
• Conducting sustainability audits and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
