Job summary

SRG is recruiting a Global Trials Manager for a 6-month contract in the UK, remote work option. The role centers on delivering field trials across geographies and coordinating with project milestones. Expect responsibility for trial design, ARM protocol management and CRO oversight.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on ARM experience, a strong background in agricultural/ horticultural efficacy trials and be able to travel early in 2027. Right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Agriculture, Horticulture, Weed Science, Plant Science or related discipline.
• PA1 and PA6 qualifications would be highly beneficial.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to travel for work in January–April 2027.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee herbicide efficacy trials across multiple geographies, from controlled environments to open-field studies.
• Build and manage trial protocols in ARM, including treatment structures, randomisation, assessment timings and trial books.
• Manage external CROs, including contractor selection, scope development, trial oversight and performance monitoring.
• Analyse multi-trial datasets to support candidate progression and contribute to reports, presentations and SOPs.
• Collaborate with biology, chemistry, formulation and project teams, ensuring clear communication of progress and accurate record keeping.

Salary (6-months pro rata) - £50,000 - £75,000 depending on experience

SRG is working with a specialist researcher in the agricultural biotech sector who are recruiting for an interim global field trials manager on a 6 month basis. This is a critical role with immediate responsibility for maintaining the delivery of field trials across multiple geographies and supporting key project and partnership milestones. The role would suit someone with an exceptional track record for managing agricultural field trials across multiple geographies.

Role Description

• Designing, commissioning and overseeing herbicide efficacy trials across multiple geographies, from controlled environment studies through to open-field trials, in line with project and partner requirements.
• Building and managing trial protocols in ARM, including treatment structures, randomisation, assessment timings and trial books, and producing ARM outputs and data collection templates.
• Managing external contract research organisations (CROs), including contractor selection, scope development, trial oversight and performance monitoring, and representing Moa during site visits and trial tours.
• Analysing and interpreting multi-trial datasets to support candidate progression, and contributing to reports, presentations, technical reviews, SOPs and risk assessments.
• Working closely with biology, chemistry, formulation and project teams, ensuring clear communication of trial progress and accurate record keeping in line with company systems and quality processes.

Requirements

• Demonstrable hands‑on experience using ARM (Agricultural Research Manager)
• Proven ability to independently design, build and maintain field trial protocols, treatment structures, randomisation plans and assessment schedules within ARM.
• Strong experience designing, commissioning, managing and interpreting agricultural or horticultural efficacy trials.
• PhD or MSc in Agriculture, Horticulture, Weed Science, Plant Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industrial experience.
• PA1 and PA6 qualifications would be highly beneficial
• Able to travel for work in January - April 2027
• Full right to work in the UK
