Qualifications

With ground breaking new medicines on the horizon, we are looking for an ambitious and motivated Lead Respiratory Pharmacist to drive innovation and deliver exceptional care acrossBuckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) and the Integrated Care Board (ICB).

Respiratory care is rapidly advancing, and this role is at theforefront of change. You will play a pivotal role in shaping new pharmacy services, integrating innovative treatments, and ensuring patients receive the highest standard of respiratory medicine management.

Main duties of the job
  • Lead the way in respiratory pharmacy - Oversee medicines management, ensuring the safe and effective use of new and existing respiratory treatments.
  • Drive innovation - Take a proactive role in evaluating and embedding new medicines and advanced therapies into clinical practice.

Support and develop the team - Provide expert leadership, training, and mentorship to ensure the development of trainee pharmacist and junior rotational pharmacists.

Enhance patient outcomes - improving care for patients with conditions such as asthma and COPD, implementing new medicines.

Ensure financial sustainability - Offer strategic financial insights to optimise medicines use and support cost-effective prescribing.

Person Specification
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
  • Registered Pharmacist: Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Post-graduate diploma in clinically pharmacy or recognised equivalent
  • RPS faculty Stage II accreditation
EXPERIENCE
  • At least 4 years experience of hospital pharmacy at Post Registration Pharmacist level
  • Significant experience of delivery of pharmacy services to a broad range of specialties including medicines and surgery
  • Experience of delivery of clinical pharmacy service to a specialist level
  • Experience in pre-registration training
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
  • Able to travel to other sites within the Trust and to venues for training
