Job summary

Trusted Growth Partners is seeking an experienced Lead Adjudicator in City of London on a 12-month maternity cover. The role leads a team of Adjudicators, ensuring timely, fair, evidence-based decisions in line with legislation and policy, and manages workload, quality assurance, and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading and developing a team in adjudications, regulatory or professional discipline.
  • Experience in a professional regulator or similar regulatory organisation.
  • Strong understanding of adjudication, regulatory decision-making, governance and casework processes.
  • Experience managing performance, conducting appraisals and supporting staff development.
  • Experience allocating work, managing capacity and monitoring delivery against KPIs and service standards.
  • Strong quality assurance skills and ability to ensure consistency and accuracy in decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of Adjudicators through regular one-to-ones, coaching, appraisals and performance reviews.
  • Oversee day-to-day delivery of the adjudications service, ensuring work is allocated effectively and cases progress within service standards.
  • Monitor quality, consistency and timeliness of decisions; provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure decisions are fair, evidence-based, defensible and aligned with legislation and procedures.
  • Manage team performance, absence, wellbeing and development.
  • Produce and present performance reports, MI and KPIs to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support efficient case progression and implement improvements.
  • Lead on continuous improvement and regulatory changes.

Lead Adjudicator

Location: City of London, Hybrid

Salary: £60,000

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, Maternity Cover

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Adjudicator to join a respected regulatory organisation on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This is a key operational leadership role, responsible for leading and developing a team of Adjudicators and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, fair and consistent adjudications service. You will oversee team performance, workload allocation, quality assurance and service delivery, ensuring decisions are made within agreed timescales and in line with relevant legislation, policy and organisational standards.

The successful candidate will bring proven experience of managing an Adjudications team within a professional regulator or comparable regulatory environment. You will be a confident and supportive people manager, able to drive performance, develop colleagues and identify opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of Adjudicators through regular one-to-ones, coaching, appraisals and performance reviews.

  • Provide advice and support on complex, sensitive or high-profile matters.
  • Promote a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
About You

You will have strong experience within adjudications, professional regulation, fitness to practise or a comparable decision-making environment. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities while maintaining a consistent, high-quality service.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Proven experience managing and developing a team within an Adjudications, regulatory or professional discipline function.
  • Experience working within a professional regulator or similar regulatory organisation.
  • A strong understanding of adjudication, regulatory decision-making, governance and casework processes.

Desirable Experience
  • Experience working within a UK professional regulator.
  • Experience supporting or managing hearings, tribunals or formal decision-making processes.
  • Continuous improvement, project management or change management experience.
