Job summary

Colchester United Football Club is seeking a dynamic Lead Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach to join the Academy Sports Science team. You will drive the physical development of players from U9 through U21 with strength, conditioning, athletic development, and rigorous monitoring as part of the club's Sports Science and Medicine/Performance Programme.

You will deliver age-appropriate S&C across FP-YDP-PDP, provide sessions to U9-U16, support U18 with prehab and warm-ups, and manage data

Qualifications

• Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science or related discipline.
• Hold, or be working towards, BASES accreditation.
• Hold a current First Aid for Sport qualification (FAiS or equivalent).
• Hold, or be working towards, UK Strength and Conditioning Association accreditation, or equivalent workshops.
• Hold an FA Saf safeguarding Award and an up-to-date DBS check.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver age-appropriate strength and conditioning programmes across FP, YDP and PDP.
• Deliver athletic development sessions to U9-U16 players.
• Provide sports science support to U18 players, including prehab and warm-ups.
• Plan and deliver fitness testing, gym testing and movement screening.
• Implement data-monitoring systems for U16-U21 players to analyse training loads.
• Provide coaches with daily feedback relating to physical training objectives.
• Support CPD for coaches, parents and players.
• Safeguarding responsibilities and safeguarding compliance throughout.
