Job Responsibilities
- Report daily to the Head Physiotherapist and contribute to departmental meetings and the Academy Multi-Disciplinary Team.
- Lead injury prevention planning and implementation for all U9-U21 Academy players.
- Manage rehabilitation processes and delegate tasks for all U9-U21 Academy players.
- Coordinate individual and group testing/screening sessions for all U9-U21 Academy players.
- Collaborate with the U21 head coach on training load planning.
- Work with the Head Sports Science and Medicine staff to develop physical training sessions for U21 players.
- Coordinate with the club Nutritionist for the academy's nutritional strategies.
- Partner with the club Psychologist to support the psychological strategies for all Academy Players.
- Participate in monthly CPD activities within the Academy Sports Science & Medicine department.
- Manage all Part-Time Physiotherapists and ensure appropriate medical coverage for fixtures and training sessions.
- Lead match-day Physiotherapy services for the U21 squad and assist during academy sessions and fixtures as needed.
- Record all medical data and notes in the PMA system, complying with EPPP standards.
- Implement injury prevention and rehabilitation programs for professional development players.
- Collaborate with the Physiotherapy department to conduct testing for development players.
- Communicate with players and coaching staff regarding injury recovery and return-to-play timelines.
- Arrange necessary medical consultations.
Candidate Requirements
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registration
- Full CSP membership
- Valid FA ATMMiF/AREA Qualification
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- Experience in professional football environments
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and data management abilities
- Flexibility to accommodate role demands
- Full UK driving license
- Experience with EPPP and PMA data input
- Experience working with youth elite athletes
- Demonstrated honesty, integrity, industry, innovation, and sportsmanship
