Job summary

Barnsley Football Club's BRFC Academy invites applications for an Academy Performance Analyst role to support U13–U16 development with strong video and data analysis. The post is based at BRFC Academy with flexible location to assist the Youth Development Phase.

You will deliver high-quality analysis, support coaching with Development Action Plans, and integrate insights into interdisciplinary player development discussions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver pre-match, in-match, and post-match analysis for U13–U16 teams.
• Capture, code, and upload match and training footage to designated platforms (e.g., Hudl).
• Provide individual and team feedback through video sessions and data insights.
• Support coaches in creating Development Action Plans (DAPs) for players.
• Use analysis tools (SportsCode, Hudl, Wyscout, Coach Paint) to provide objective insights.
• Maintain performance databases and dashboards for Youth Development Phase players.
• Ensure compliance with EPPP and audit requirements.
• Work closely with coaches, sports science, and recruitment teams to integrate analysis into player development programmes.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary meetings and player reviews.

BRFC Academy, BB6 8BA. However, flexibility regarding location may be required.

Head of Academy Performance Analysis

Responsible for:

Academy Performance Analyst Interns (YDP)

Hours of work:

A minimum of 37.5 hours per week and any additional hours necessary for the performance of duties. This may include evening and weekend work.

1. Job purpose:

To lead and deliver performance analysis support for the Youth Development Phase (U13–U16), ensuring alignment with the Academy Performance Plan (APP). The role focuses on providing high-quality video and data analysis to enhance player development, coach support, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

2. Duties and responsibilities:

Performance Analysis Delivery

• Plan and deliver pre-match, in-match, and post-match analysis for U13–U16 teams.
