Job Opportunity: Lead Academy Age Group Coach at Stoke City Football Club

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Stoke City Football Club, a Category One status Academy in the English Football League, for a part-time Lead Academy Age Group Coach to support football operations at our Clayton Wood Training Ground and other development centre locations.

Reporting to the Head of Academy Coaching, the Lead Coach will play a crucial role in supporting and developing young players. You will work with the academy team to plan and deliver weekly programmes aimed at enhancing player performance and development.

The ideal candidate will deliver coaching sessions to academy players, demonstrating a commitment to helping future talents reach their highest potential.

Main Responsibilities

• Planning, delivering, and evaluating coaching activities.
• Reviewing and suggesting improvements to the coaching curriculum.
• Providing reports to the Head of Academy Coaching.
• Participating in national and regional meetings, workshops, and training courses.
• Enhancing player performance through development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Meeting with Lead Phase Coaches to discuss player progress.

Skills, Experiences, and Qualifications

• Background in football as a player or coach.
• UEFA B coaching qualification, FA Youth Coaching Modules 3, and working towards the Advanced Youth Award.
• Understanding of elite-level requirements.
• Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of EPPP requirements.
• Strong planning and communication skills.
• Experience managing coaches in an academy setting is desirable.

The position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends. It is offered on a part-time, permanent basis with training provided.
